Willow Class have been learning about the tragic events of Tuesday 29th September 1942 for the Petworth community. As part of their learning they tried to place themselves in the children, who were attending Petworth Boys School at the time. Please listen to Ferne’s writing.

A great half term
What a great first half term back we have had in Willow!
We have been up to soo many great things, including:
PGL
We had a fab time on the Isle of Wight. We faced our fears, did lots of laughing, and of course, ate lots of yummy food!
Film, Farm, Fork
This term we have continued with our outdoor projects, ensuring the animals and allotments are prepared for winter. We have been making films about classification, learning how we can classify different things, and we have been cooking up some seasonal delights in the kitchen.
Long Division
We have been working extremely hard on our maths this half term. We started off looking at place value, before moving onto the four operations. This week we have been conquering long division – we have been awesome!
Of course, this is just a small snippet of what we have been up to, we have also been learning all about North America, been reading the book Holes, as well as some important RE and PSHE work (not to mention our landscape art, computing skills and PE!).
Next half term is already shaping up to be an exciting one, we will be kicking off the half term with Parliament Week, before moving onto our new topic of The Mayans. We shall be visiting The British Museum, completing BikeAbility and of course we will be taking part in all of the Christmas festivities! We can’t wait to share our next learning with you.
